Mississauga’s incentive window is for development costs
By YorkNine editorial team ·
The City extended its residential development-charge programme to a December 31, 2027 permit deadline. The reductions are not a direct discount on a buyer’s home.
What the City announced
On March 12, Mississauga announced an extension of its development-charge incentive programme. Its release describes a 50% reduction for residential units, and 100% for qualifying purpose-built rental apartments with one bedroom plus den, two or three bedrooms, subject to a 25-year rental-tenure agreement.
The extended building-permit deadline is December 31, 2027.
What this means for a buyer
This concerns development costs. It does not establish a grant to an individual purchaser, eliminate every authority’s fees or guarantee a lower sale price.
